Schwarzlicht Initial Woodcuts

Schwarzlicht Initials is a set of 26 dropcaps using the uppercase forms from my typeface, Schwarzlicht. The initials are inspired by the work of William Morris and merge a legible display blackletter with organic shapes.
This was my first time doing woodcuts and I learned a lot along the way. They are cut in sapele wood and sit right around 2.5″ square. Information about each background may be found on my Instagram account.
